In History lessons pupils will learn about people, events and places from both the recent and more distant past. They will learn about changes locally, in Britain and other parts of the world. They will study ancient civilisations and consider topics from various perspectives such as political, economic, technological and scientific, social, religious, cultural or aesthetic. Children will be helped in developing a sense of chronology by linking areas of study. They will use different sources of information and learn that the past can be represented and interpreted in different ways.
We aim to make this learning process fun, interesting and stimulating. History provides one of the fundamental ways in which a society can pass on its cultural heritage to new generations. Having an appreciation of the past helps us to have a clearer understanding of the present.
